Eco-Schools 10th Young People’s Summit
On Friday 14th May, our school participated in the Virtual Edition of the Eco-Schools 10th Young People’s Summit. This event was held online and involved the participation of various schools from Malta and Gozo which were split into small groups to discuss environmental issues like urbanism, marine pollution, and air quality.
During one workshop, two students from our school, Emma Manicaro and Ilaria Farrugia Pace, gave a power point presentation on food waste in households. The presentation was based on Emma’s award-winning essay which was an entry to the YRE #litterless competition last year.
Maegan Friggieri represented the school as rapporteur during the online event together with Ms. Sarah Vassallo and Ms. Mary Rose Formosa. Maegan will be presenting the findings of this Edition to her Eko Skola peers in the coming week.
The event was concluded by the drafting of a declaration by Prof. Paul J. Pace which included the input of all the students who participated in the event.
