Science Fieldwork at Buskett Gardens
As part of their Integrated Science syllabus, a class of Form 2 students participated in a fieldwork activity. The activity, which took place in Buskett, was expertly led by 2 teachers employed with BirdLife.
As part of their tasks, the students were involved in:
- identifying the various habitats present in Buskett
- looking out for organisms that live within these habitats
- becoming aware of the richness of the biodiversity that lies in these gardens
- using magnifying lenses in order to name different species of lichens present in the area
- deciphering Classification Keys to identify a number of plants and trees
- looking out for a few fresh water organisms
- appreciating and exploring the unspoilt natural beauty of Buskett Gardens
