Marian Pilgrimage 2022
After many days of planning and frequent choir rehearsals and mass preparations, the countdown to the much-awaited Marian Pilgrimage finally arrived. The entire senior school staff and students started their morning with a special assembly in connection to the day’s main event and then everyone set off on their journey to Mgarr Parish church.
Within a few minutes of settling down, students from different senior class cohorts were asked to recite the rosary and this was followed by the celebration of mass, which was led by Fr Matthew, the school’s ordained chaplain.
Mass was entirely animated by the school choir and band and the Marian hymns and songs echoed all around the countryside church creating a sense of unity and great community spirit.
Towards the end of our mass, Sr Christina who was about to leave on a two year mission to Australia, was led to the altar where a donation in aid of the missions with money collected from our mission week bazaar was presented to her.
Sr Christina was also given blessings and best wishes for her new duty by the entire school community as everyone sang along to the words of the ‘Blessing Song’.
After mass, everyone made their way towards Gnejna Bay for a much-awaited picnic and a whole school get-together. We couldn’t have wished for more ideal weather. The whole morning was indeed a memorable and very meaningful one indeed.
