Introduction to Digital Artworks

On Monday 21st October, the Grade 10 Art Option students visited Christine X Art Gallery in Sliema, where an exhibition of digital artworks was being shown. Through the exhibition titled Tomorrow’s Blossoms, the artist, Selina Scerri explained how, using AI, she created these artworks by accumulated a vast number of images from the internet, drew them out, and fed them into an AI image generator. It was interesting to listen to her process of work, and the girls had the opportunity to see how the creation of art, too, is being affected by, and fed into AI. After viewing a 10-minute video of the animated works, they were then led through the exhibition where they were able to view stills of the animated video as printed digital works.
