Life-Saving Course: Senior Is
A group of Senior I students last week attended a Lifesaving Course held by the Royal Life Saving Society, Malta, in St Julian’s.
The Royal Life Saving Society, Malta Branch, was founded in 1924 and is an Associate Member within the Royal Life Saving Society – Commonwealth.
During this course students not only learnt how to identify danger and how to keep as safe as possible whilst at sea but they also learnt lifesaving skills to help another casualty in danger. They practised skills such as the reach, the throw, the wade and the non-accompanied rescue. These students passed their oral and practical exam and they will be awarded a certificate for Lifesaving 1 issued by the Commonwealth, valid for 24 months and recognized worldwide.
