Science Fieldwork at Buskett Gardens

As part of their Integrated Science syllabus, a class of Form 2 students  participated in a fieldwork activity.  The activity, which took place in Buskett, was expertly led by 2 teachers employed with BirdLife.

As part of their tasks, the students were involved in:

  • identifying the various habitats present in Buskett
  • looking out for organisms that live within these habitats
  • becoming aware of the richness of the biodiversity that lies in these gardens
  • using magnifying lenses in order to name different species of lichens present in the area
  • deciphering Classification Keys to identify a number of plants and trees
  • looking out for a few fresh water organisms
  • appreciating and exploring the unspoilt natural beauty of Buskett Gardens
