She Runs – Active Girls’ Lead Project in Paris

St Joseph School Sliema will take part in the She Runs –  Active Girls’ Lead project which will be taking place in Paris between the 11th and 17th March 2019.

This project organised by ISF (International Sports School Federation) which is partially financed by the EU, focuses on women empowerment and leadership skills. This opportunity will enable our twelve Senior 4 and 5 students to interact with other students coming from thirty five countries from around the globe.

During this week, the Maltese team  will be participating in a Scavenger hunt around the landmarks in Paris, take part in a 3KM fun run  A sports village will give the opportunity to all the participants to try new sports. The fulcrum of the event is the meeting with top athletes and international influential female leaders who will give the opportunity to all teenagers to ask and learn for their success.  The Maltese delegation has also been cordially invited to meet the Ambassador of Malta for France, Ms Helga Mizzi.

Two students from each country will remain in Paris for another day where they will learn how to create a project and implement it in Malta to help girls take a lead role. This will be an enriching experience for our students and will enable them to acquire skills and lasting relationships. The 12 students will be accompanied by Ms Nadia Xuereb, Ms Nathalie Camilleri and Ms Joanna Camilleri, and their participation has been made possible through Ms Charlene Attard’s organisation and coordination.  You can follow the project’s events on
