Hosanna to the King of Kings

Palm Sunday celebrates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem as Saviour and King. It also marks the start of Holy Week. Jesus was welcomed by a joyful crowd waving palm leaves and shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!” At the time, Rome was occupying Israel and the Jews were oppressed, discouraged, afraid. When Jesus arrived, there was joy, assuming He was their political saviour. His presence brought much hope. Palm Sunday is therefore about hope; Jesus brought a renewed sense of hope to their hearts.

What brings you hope, and how does Jesus help you feel hopeful? Think of someone in your life or in your class who is going through a rough patch, feels discouraged, or afraid. Send them a positive message which gives them courage and helps them feel hopeful.
